The overall objective of this research is to demonstrate the influence of the artisanal process on contemporary Paraguayan architecture, whose design and construction methods respond to the resources provided by the site’s immediate surroundings and the influence of a creative process based on the exchange of construction experiences between the artisan and the architect. The research focuses on the interpretation of architectural elements embedded in the works of three generations of Paraguayan architects, categorized by the actions the artisan executes on the material. These actions are framing, stacking, and compacting.
